The Uwe P. Gielen Scholarship Fund

The St. Francis College Student Government Association announced a drive to endow a full-tuition scholarship for an academically distinguished student. The scholarship is named in honor of Dr. Uwe P. Gielen, Professor of Psychology and Executive Director of the Institute for International and Cross-Cultural Psychology. In the past, the Student Government Association has presented him with the Faculty Member of the Year Award and the Franciscan Spirit Award. A prolific author in cross-cultural and international psychology, Dr. Gielen is presently completing work on his 19th and 20th books.

St. Francis College, a small private college located in Brooklyn, New York City, was founded in 1884 to provide affordable, quality education to the working class people who otherwise may not be able to attend college. Many of them come from immigrant family backgrounds and they are often the first in their family to attend college.
